La scena è rappresentata con grande dettaglio (mobili, vestiti) e vediamo, per esempio, due di loro – uno nel profilo e l'altro da dietro – scrivere e leggere un documento, mentre altri, dietro un contatore, servono un cliente o recensiscono un pezzo di scrittura. La nota dell'umorismo è posta dal cane al centro della composizione osservando detti lavori.
