Questa statua ritrae l'animale domestico del principe Alberto, Eos. Il principe le fu dato come cucciolo di sei settimane. Anche se aveva solo 14 anni all'epoca, l'ha cresciuta e l'ha addestrata lui stesso, e lei rimase la sua compagna fino alla sua morte il 31 luglio 1844, quando aveva dieci anni e mezzo. John Francis, uno scultore preferito della regina Vittoria, espose questo bronzo alla Royal Academy nel 1848.
