Le tre figlie dell'Onorevole Percy Wyndham, un ricco londinese, appaiono in questa tela monumentale. Dalla sinistra sono Madeline Adeane (1869-1941), Pamela Tennant (1871-1928), e Mary Constance, Lady Elcho (1862-1937). Sargent li dipinse nel salotto della loro residenza di famiglia su Piazza Belgrave. Visto sul muro sopra di loro è il ritratto di George Frederic Watts della loro madre (collezione privata), che stabilisce la loro genealogia e ricorda gli spettatori dei legami di Sargent agli artisti più anziani. Mostrato nel 1900 alla Royal Academy, The Wyndham Sisters è stato salutato dai critici e soprannominato “The Three Graces” dal Principe di Galles.
