Il Danaides (1904) è un dipinto ad olio del pittore inglese Pre-Raphaelite John William Waterhouse. Le cinquanta figlie di Danaüs, re di Argo, furono comandate in obbedienza ad una profezia per uccidere i loro mariti nella loro notte di nozze; tutti tranne uno obbedirono, e furono puniti dal dover disegnare acqua in sieves da un pozzo profondo, o versandolo in un vaso da cui fuggeva continuamente.
