Nel 1519, re Carlos Ho proposto di tenere corte per delegazione, inviando un'ambasciata a Valencia presieduta dal vescovo di Tortosa, il cardinale Adriano di Utrecht (poi papa Adriano VI), che avrebbe provocato l'indignazione dei nobili e delle corporazioni gemellate. Il rifiuto di un re che non aveva giurato i fueros e che non ha chiamato i Cortes avrebbe aggravato i disordini sociali che avrebbero dato modo, l'anno 1520 alla rivolta dei Germani.
