Il vaporizzatore Miguel M. de Pinillos fu costruito presso il cantiere navale J. Laing a Sunderland (England) su commissione degli armatori Pinillos, che lo ricevette nel 1885. Dettagli tecnici: lunghezza 109 m., fascio 13.79 m., profondità 9,43 m., tonnellaggio totale 2,999 t. (2,125 nett), e alimentato da motori 1200 hp ad una velocità di 11 nodi. Fu usato per la linea caraibica, che successivamente salpò per oltre 30 anni quasi senza incidenti. Tuttavia, dopo la Grande Guerra (e un periodo in cui è stato ormeggiato al porto) l'armatore Pinillos lo vendette agli armatori baschi Abrizqueta & Compañía, che lo ribattezzò Juan Abrizqueta. La nave salpò per altri tre anni fino a quando non fu rotta in Olanda nel 1923.
