La Corvette Cataluña naviga prima della costa di Barcellona. Questa nave fu costruita a Blanes (Girona) nel 1872 dal naufragio Ramón Vieta. Il 19 aprile 1872, è stato registrato a Barcellona con il nome “Dolores”, con la Garriga y Baldiris come suo proprietario. Nel 1883 la nave venne acquistata dalla compagnia Gusi, acquistata il 6 ottobre da Francesc Gusi i Mercader e Francesc Sala i Coll, che la rinominò “Cataluña”. Il 23 agosto 1887, la corvette Cataluña fu distrutta sulle Bahama Banks, con l'intero equipaggio sopravvissuto.
