Óleo pintado por Juan de la Corte en el siglo XVII. Tras su formación en Flandes se estableció en Madrid en 1613. Gozó de mucho prestigio en su época y fue uno de los encargados de la decoración del Salón de Reinos junto con artistis como Zurbarán, Velázquez y Carducho, entre otros. En esta pintura se rappresentarea una batalla naval entre una escuadra de galeones españoles y unas galeotas turcas.
