Pallière impiegava la tecnica sanguine per schizzare rapidamente tutto ciò che passava davanti ai suoi occhi, in particolare durante il viaggio. Il soggetto di questa scena è –come indica esattamente il titolo – un carro trainato da quattro cavalli, tutti cavalcati da gauchos indossando ponchos. A destra, una madre a cavallo solleva suo figlio per portarlo insieme al gruppo; a sinistra due bambini possono essere visti camminare nella sporcizia. Sono visibili due passeggeri del carro, entrambe figure femminili. Diversi esemplari di alberi sono registrati arrotondando la scena, con tre esempi di palme che sono particolarmente notevoli. Una piccola mandria può essere vista in lontananza, all'ombra degli alberi sul lato sinistro.
