La composizione della luce e dell'oscurità fa emergere forme e ombre mistiche. Nelle profondità scure del dipinto si trova una silhouette luminosa, ma vaga, una forma strana, che vista ad un angolo è presente nell'immagine, ma invisibile se vista da un altro. Le pietre del pastello creano un'allusione dei resti di un essere umano, cioè un cranio e una mano. La realtà è solo la copertura che nasconde qualcosa di veramente incomprensibile e profondo.
