Unzen, artista Nanga, addestrato a Nagasaki con pittori cinesi che passavano attraverso la città portuale. Conosciuto come una figura eccentrica e solitaria, viaggiò ampiamente in ricerca di influenze artistiche e fu presumibilmente appassionato di bevanda. In questo paesaggio autunnale abbozzato, una singola figura batte un fiume dominato da cottage di montagna a metà nascosto.
