È composto da un tubo ottico cilindrico collegato ad un paio di cilindri in vetro che terminano in due vassoi cilindrici in vetro anche appoggiati su un supporto in vetro rettangolare inclinabile. Lo strumento si trova su una base rettangolare in ghisa.
