Cappotto lungo e bordeaux in velluto con decorazione policromatica stampato in beige, blu, verde e dorato, raffigurante motivi floreali: melograno che ricordano il Rinascimento italiano, fiori di cardo e coni di pino. Le maniche, voluminose e svasate, si raccolgono alla spalla e hanno un rivestimento grigio in pelliccia di cincilla al polsino, per abbinare quello della scollatura rotonda. Si chiude alla parte anteriore a livello toracico, con un pulsante a forma di lacrima in legno e foderato con seta su cui è posto un cucito web di metallo e fili di seta. Questo capo è stato ispirato da abiti o cappotti, realizzati nel XV secolo per l'élite europea. Fortuny lo ha progettato per i costumi del gioco, Othello, diretto da Pietro Scharoff e eseguito nel cortile del Palazzo Ducale di Venezia.
