Isabel Flores de Oliva (Lima, 1586-1617), meglio conosciuta come Santa Rosa di Lima, è la prima santa americana dichiarata dalla Chiesa cattolica, beatificata nel 1668, e canonizzata alcuni anni dopo. Nel 1670 fu nominata Patrona della città di Lima e dei Regni del Perù, e Patrona Universale e Principale di tutta l'America e dei domini della Spagna. Le Processioni si svolgono a Lima celebrandola da quando è stata beatificata, una tradizione che si sta espandendo presto nel tempo e oltre i domini spagnoli di quel tempo. Inoltre, la sua fama è riuscita a scatenare un fenomeno letterario e artistico.
