Questa trapunta celebra l'arrivo del grano duro d'inverno rosso in Kansas nel 1874. Descritto nel blocco centrale di questa trapunta del medaglione è il logo del Comitato del Centenario del grano di Stato. Ogni blocco ha basato parole e simbolismo visivo, così come quasi tutte le quilt di Mitchell. I bordi includono schemi di blocco di trapunta riconoscibili come Farmer’s Fields, The Disk e Farm Friendliness. Il ricamo include il punto di frumento-ear, un marchio Jean Mitchell. Intorno al perimetro, Mitchell ha cucito il nome dell'amico così come un nome dei suoi genitori, la cui memoria onora la trapunta. I nomi sono cuciti a mano in scrittura arricciante con le sue curve rigide a cucire.
