All'inizio del 1887, Kreuger tornò dalla Francia, dove viveva da sei anni. Quell'autunno, lui e sua moglie Bertha si trasferirono a Varberg. Questa vista di una strada piovosa è dall'anno dopo e assomiglia i dipinti di Kreuger dal suo tempo in Francia. La recinzione in primo piano forma una diagonale, disegnando lo sguardo dello spettatore nella foto. I toni grigi trasmettono un forte senso di umidità e una brezza fredda, con case in legno e alberi quasi-bare. Una figura solitaria lotta contro il vento lungo il rasoio rosso.
