Nonomura Ninsei è ben noto nella storia della ceramica giapponese antica come maestro di Omuroyaki, la cui fornace era situata di fronte al Tempio di Ninnaji a Omuro, Kyoto. Mentre il momento esatto in cui Omuroyaki ha cominciato è ancora sconosciuto, si stima che sia intorno al 1647. Ninsei
