La Biblioteca, restaurata e riaperta ai visitatori nel 2014, ospita una straordinaria collezione di libri. Più di 400.000 volumi tra cui 15.000 incunabula e oltre 1.300 manoscritti. La sezione incunabula è una delle più significative e ricche d'Italia. Per essere più preciso, è composto da 1.265 volumi, per un totale di 1.083 edizioni diverse. Ventiquattro titoli sono le uniche copie in Italia, tra cui cinque sono le uniche copie in tutto il mondo. Ci sono anche copie illuminate e prestigiose edizioni in legno.
