Xu Beihong ha portato queste due opere di Pascal Dagnan-Bouveret in Cina. Questa serie di lavori che si svolge nella raccolta della Xu Beihong Memorial Hall mostra l’affetto speciale del maestro cinese per Dagnan-Bouveret. Quando vide questo dipinto Ophelia in un negozio di Parigi nell'autunno 1925, Xu voleva comprarlo per la sua collezione. Di conseguenza, è andato a Singapore e ha raccolto i fondi con l'aiuto di alcuni amici.
