Egisto Fabbri (1866-1933) fu un italiano-americano che raccolse Cézannes, acquistò il Palazzo Capponi a Firenze nel 1920. C'è ancora una mostra su lui e la sua collezione. Alcuni dicono che abbia venduto i suoi Cézannes per comprare la Villa. --Lettera di Linda Pacifici, coordinatore dei prestiti alla Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, 5/4/2006, affermando che dopo la morte di Fabbri il dipinto rimase nella sua casa e fu poi venduto dai suoi eredi. Anche che fu esposto nel 1910 alla prima mostra sull'Impressionismo che si tenne a Firenze al Liceo. La Galleria di Harriman ha aperto nel 1930 e chiuso nel 1942. Il dipinto fu esposto alla Marie Harriman Galery nel novembre 1939. Forse ha acquistato il dipinto direttamente dagli eredi di Fabbri. Esibita alla Marie Harriman Gallery nel novembre 1939.
