Paul Iribe è uno dei pionieri dell'Art Deco. I suoi disegni per mobili, gioielli, tessuti, decorazioni sceniche e costumi teatrali mostrano il diverso senso di stile che ha sostituito Art Nouveau dal 1910 in poi e sviluppato un nuovo repertorio di forme. Nel panorama di Iribe,l’arredamento deve riflettere l’estetica contemporanea. Tuttavia, ha respinto forme cubiste o mobili fatti dalla macchina.
