I contatti stabiliti a Parigi, tra il 1934 e il 35, con l'ambiente intellettuale e artistico dell'avanguardia portano Pedro a firmare, insieme ad Arp, Calder, il Delaunays, Duchamp, Miró, Moholy-Nagy e Picabia, tra gli altri, il Manifesto Dimensionalista, una tendenza che mira a cancellare la frontiera tra le arti attraverso l'introduzione dello spazio-tempo come la quarta dimensione. Per Pedro, ha rappresentato la possibilità di costruire un ponte dalla sua attività poetica alle arti plastiche, aprendo l'arte portoghese ad un nuovo spazio per il rapporto arte-letteratura, in conformità con le teorie e le esperienze dell'arte internazionale del tempo.
