Figari raffigura una certa nicchia della campagna in questo pezzo. Una casa semplice a forma di cubo con una porta e una finestra si riflette in un piccolo lago. I rami di alcuni salici pianti cadono sopra l'acqua e la casa. Una grande area scura sulla sinistra di questa scena sembra intensificare l'atmosfera sobria. Il lavoro è dipinto in uno stile sciolto con molti daub di colore, una tecnica che rivela chiaramente l'influenza del pittore Pierre Bonnard.
