Il centro di questo trittico dipinto di Traquair raffigura una madre abbracciante e un bambino situato in un paesaggio di Borders, come identificato dal viadotto Leaderfoot sullo sfondo. L'interlacciamento celtico può essere visto sul semplice cappotto rosso della madre. I due gruppi cherubini nelle ali guardano verso la madre che è raffigurata qui in modo onesto e ordinario. L’esterno delle ali è impresso con motivi celtici e mela e contiene due smalti circolari raffiguranti ‘Eve e il Serpent’ e ‘Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden’.
