Un paesaggio orizzontalmente orientato con un mulino a vento scuro, rosso-marrone raffigurato leggermente a destra del centro e formando una forte verticale contro un'ampia distesa di cielo. Il cielo è rappresentato come tre larghe bande orizzontali: Le band nubi superiori e inferiori sono mauve. La fascia centrale è un cielo luminoso blu striato di giallo e bianco. Una banda blu sottile e più scura (sky o mare?) segna la linea dell'orizzonte. A sinistra si trova un cottage scuro a basso polmone, rosso-roofed. Un ponte grigliato si estende orizzontalmente attraverso la pittura e si riflette nell'acqua, come è la lunga, snella, barca rossa luminosa a sinistra. Una donna e Holstein-Friesian mucca nera e bianca sono raffigurati attraversando il ponte. L'ombra scura del mulino a vento si riflette nella fascia d'acqua in primo piano, come sono due piscine di lucernario.
