La Madonna del coazzone dà il suo nome al termine dialetto per il lungo platino che pende sulla schiena, ahairstyle molto alla moda tra le signore della fine del XV secolo Milano. La scultura proviene dalla Cattedrale di Milano ed è attribuita a Pietro Antonio Solari, figlio dell'architetto Guiniforte. Le forme sono eleganti, i drappeggi semplificati e i contorni del viso ammorbiditi, in linea con la tendenza classicista che si svolge verso la fine del XV secolo.
