Questa commovente rappresentazione di Cristo è un frammento danneggiato di un grande crocifisso dipinto e si ispira ad un Crocifisso dipinto da Giotto nella chiesa di San Francesco, Rimini. Un pittore molto originale ed espressivo, Pietro da Rimini è stato tra i pittori locali più influenzati dal suo esempio. Questo è un lavoro tardivo e di solito è datato al 1330. I grandi crocifissi dipinti di solito sono stati appesi sopra l'altare maggiore delle chiese o, in alternativa, sospesi sopra lo schermo del rood dividendo lo spazio pubblico da quello riservato ai chierici.
