Pietro Roi (1819-1896) nacque in provincia di Vicenza e si alleò all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia, maturando il suo stile frequentando a Roma gli artisti neoclassici e romantici Tommaso Minardi e Nicola Consoni e il pittore nazareno Johann Friedrich Overbeck. L'artista vicentino, nel corso della sua attività artistica, ha sviluppato il suo stile pittorico in commissioni di soggetti religiosi, dipinti storici, ritratti e paesaggi. .
