Come parte delle sue pratiche artistiche, Ravi Varma ha fatto duplicazioni delle sue creazioni. Molto spesso un dipinto esposto ad una mostra è stato acquisito da un acquirente e ambito da un altro, che di couser è stata una pratica abbastanza comune in Europa e continua con l'arte contemporanea oggi. Ravi Varma avrebbe indubbiamente costretto diversi patroni con versioni di dipinti originali. Delle due tele quasi identiche e non datate di The Coquette e Lady With A Fruit, i dettagli fini e le pennellate accurate di The Coquette lo suggeriscono di essere l'ispirazione primaria rispetto ai colpi rapidi e al trattamento casual del secondo lavoro.
