Hanukkah inizia il 25 di Kislev, che cade in novembre o dicembre. Durante il festival, una delle otto luci viene illuminata ogni sera fino a quando tutti non bruciano. La celebrazione commemora un evento storico che ebbe luogo nel 164 a.C. dopo gli ebrei I sovrani greci profanarono il Tempio a Gerusalemme. Questo stile di lampada è stato creato a Francoforte e si è dimostrato particolarmente popolare. Quattro piedi di leone sostengono un vassoio rettangolare che tiene tazze di olio ed è chiuso con un coperchio. La piastra posteriore è decorata con una menorah a sette bracci al centro e una corona sulla parte superiore tenuta da due leoni. La menorah ricorda il candelabro nel tempio di Gerusalemme, la corona sta per la torah, i leoni per la tribù di Giuda.
