L'incisione di Sébastien Leclerc che mostra la costruzione di una facciata del Palazzo del Louvre a Parigi mostra le macchine usate per trascinare e sollevare una pietra di sessanta piedi per coprire entrambi i lati di un frontone. Leclerc mostra una macchina in primo piano a sinistra che trascina la grande pietra mentre sullo sfondo, in cima al frontone e un'elaborata impalcatura, le gru possono essere viste sollevare e piazzare la pietra. Leclerc è stato tra i vari stampatori che hanno lavorato per il re Luigi XIV, contribuendo a documentare le sue numerose campagne edilizie e collezioni d'arte.
