Firmato SALOMON KONINCK F. Il dipinto raffigura forse il doppio impegno tra il duca Frederik (1471-1533), poi Frederik I di Danimarca, e Anna di Brandeburgo (1487-1514), e il Kurfurst Joachim I ed Elisabeth, figlia del re Hans. Il dipinto faceva parte di una serie di dipinti raffiguranti grandi scene di storia danese comissioned da Cristiano IV di Danimarca per il Castello di Kronborg. Fu preso come bottino di guerra da Carl Gustaf Wrangel il 6 settembre 1658. Molti di questi dipinti furono deliberatamente presi dagli svedesi come atto per privare i danesi della loro storia. Tre altri dipinti di questa serie possono anche essere visti al Castello di Skokloster oggi.
