Sara Hennell (1812-1899) è stato un autore e artista. Shebecame stretti amici con George Eliot nel 1840 e si trasferì a Coventry da Hackneyin London nel 1851. Questo acquerello mostra la Cappella in Hackney intorno ai tempi che si trasferì a Coventry per vivere accanto alla sorella Cara Bray. Lo stesso anno George Eliot si è trasferito a Londra e i due si sono allontanati nei seguenti anni.
