In attesa di uno staff per il sostegno, un signore si ferma su un sentiero di montagna per guardare in un vuoto misty. Shitao ha usato l'inchiostro asciutto, simile a carbone per strutturare le superfici di roccia e albero di questa piccola scena, dando una qualità ruvida e tattile. Solo la piccola figura, la sua schiena si voltò a noi mentre contempla le forze della natura, è dipinta con linee appuntite.
