Una scultura in bronzo intitolata The Boxer, dell'artista sudafricano Stephanus Johannes Paulus Eloff (1885-1947). Lo scultore, meglio conosciuto come Fanie, nacque nel 1885 a Pretoria Sud Africa. Nel 1910 suo padre lo inviò in Francia per studiare l'estrazione mineraria, dopo aver trascorso un paio di mesi a Parigi decise di studiare l'arte. Questo aveva suo padre Livid e fu tagliato finanziariamente. Nel 1912, alla 130a mostra Salon al Grand Palais de Champs-Elysees di Parigi, Fanie fu l'unico scultore a competere contro il famoso scultore francese Auguste Rodin (1840 – 1917). Quando Rodin prese parte a una competizione tutti gli scultori di Parigi ritirarono le loro voci mentre lamentavano che semplicemente non potevano vincere contro un artista così formidabile. Questo non determinò Eloff, che era anche il nipote del Late President Paul Kruger (del Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek), entrò in competizione con questo lavoro dal titolo
