Il corpo della cassa è il cammeo di vetro giallo tagliato in diversi toni la cui base è rossa e marrone. La decorazione è in rilievo, e mostra fiori di ciliegio con foglie e gemme. Sul corpo c'è una firma in rilievo inciso, Gallé, e in fondo un adesivo carta GALLE NANCY PARIS 241. Emile Gallé (1846 – 1904) è uno dei più importanti artisti dell'Art Nouveau per affrontare il design del vetro. All'inizio lavorò nello studio di suo padre, e nel 1873 lanciò la sua ditta che impiegava un intero team di maestri designer che producevano oggetti dai suoi disegni. Era sempre stato affascinato dalla flora e dalla fauna, e gli insetti e i fiori erano motivi comuni nelle sue opere. Nel 1899 al Paris Exhibition vinse un Gran Premio e due anni dopo fondò una scuola di vetro a Nancy. Dopo la sua morte nel 1904 il lavoro nelle vetrerie fu gestito da sua moglie, ancora facendo uso della sua firma, ma con un asterisco dopo il nome.
