Questa statuetta incompiuta era forse destinata all'esterno di un gabinetto. La testa, le mani e i piedi di Cosimo sono stati scolpiti nella dura calcedonia, probabilmente dallo specialista in in incisione in pietra semipreziosa, Torricelli. Oltre alle parti in chalcedony, la bandiera di bronzo e i trofei militari sono anche originali. L'armatura del Granduca fu scolpita in legno e i pezzi furono montati nel 1952.
