Questo calice inciso diamante è inciso con le braccia di Delft, sormontato da una corona e fiancheggiato da leoni rampanti. I vetri di questo e i relativi tipi sono stati fatti nei Paesi Bassi spagnoli dalla fine del XVI secolo in poi, a seguito di esempi veneziani. Circa 1600 l'industria è stata ben fondata in Olanda. La tecnica dell'incisione a punta di diamante è anche veneziana, divenne popolare nella Repubblica Olandese durante i primi anni del XVII secolo e rimase così durante l'età d'oro. Anche se questo calice è stato prodotto a Delft, la città non era un centro di produzione di vetro come Anversa, Amsterdam, Middelburg e altre città olandesi.
