Dipinto da Van Gogh nel 1890. La Chiesa a Auvers insieme ad altri numerosi dipinti di piccole case con tetti di paglia - ricordano scene dei paesaggi settentrionali della sua infanzia e gioventù. Una certa nostalgia per il nord era già stata evidente nelle sue ultime settimane a Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Il "semplice blu profondo" è stato utilizzato anche in Ritratto di Adeline Ravoux, dipinto nello stesso breve periodo in Auvers-sur-Oise. Il primo piano della Chiesa a Auvers è illuminato dal sole, ma la chiesa si trova nella sua ombra, e non riflette né emana alcuna luce propria.
