Walter Scott (1851-1925) disegnava custodie e gioielli e insegnava alla Scuola d'Arte di Coventry. Dipinse paesaggi nel Gloucestershire, nel Galles e nel Lake District, così come nel Warwickshire. Questa veduta di Stoke Heath nei pressi di Coventry raffigura una romantica visione di nubi inciampanti e di heathland aperta. Stoke Heath aveva originariamente un gran numero di alberi di olmo, che potevano ancora essere visti su Heath Crescent e Common Way quando le case erano costruite sulla zona. Purtroppo gli alberi sono stati distrutti dalla malattia di Elm olandese negli anni '70.
