L'offerta irlandese per la Home Rule è stata sostenuta sia moralmente che con le armi da parte dei tedeschi poiché entrambi condividevano gli inglesi come nemici. Questa medaglia si riferisce al Rising di Pasqua a Dublino il 24-30 aprile 1916, un'insurrezione armata contro il dominio britannico che è stato arrugginito dagli inglesi sotto il comando del generale Sir John Maxwell, che successivamente ha ordinato l'esecuzione dei capi della ribellione, quindici dei quali sono stati uccisi nelle prime due settimane di maggio dopo una sommaria corte marziale. Morte in possesso di un mazzo di fiori seduti su una lapide, su cui è scritto: HOME/ RULE/ R.I.P.; intorno: MAISTRAUS S·VON·DER·GRUENENEN·INSEL·1916· ("Maggiori fiori dell'isola di Smeraldo")
