Questo primo orologio georgiano stile del XIX secolo è inscritto “William McCabe, Richmond.” Si ritiene che William McCabe sia stato attivo come orologiere e rivenditore di orologi New England intorno al 1790-1820. La città emergente di Richmond era un centro vitale di produzione e industria, nonché commercio per tutti i tipi di beni e servizi all'inizio del 1800. I prodotti Richmond sono stati esportati a livello nazionale e globale come parte di una grande e lucrativa rete commerciale. Un orologio a cassa alta, noto anche come un orologio a lunga cassa o "nonno", è un orologio a pendolo in posizione libera, con il pendolo tenuto all'interno della torre, o in vita, del caso. William Clemente di Gran Bretagna è accreditato con l'invenzione della forma intorno al 1670.
