Édouard Baldusはもともとパリ在住のWestphalia出身の画家でした。 1849年、バルズはフランスの市民になりました。 その後、彼の作品はプロの写真家として始まり、ソシエ・ヘリオグラフィクの創設メンバーの一人でした。 バルドゥスは、委員会デ記念碑ヒストリケを含む多くの公式コミッションで働いた。 委員会デ・モニュメント・ヒストリケスは、1851年頃に、セカンド・エンパイアの公式によって、国への注意を引くことにより、フランスの民族主義を促進する努力によって設立されました
