Lebourgは当初、ルーアンのÉcole des Beaux Artsを研究し、アルジェリアで数年間かけて、アルジェリアのBeaux Arts Society of Algiersのドローイング教師として過ごしました。 1884年から1888年までフランスのアウバーニュ地方に住んでいたが、ノーマンディーの田舎を好み、ルーエンにセプトリングを終わらせた。 1879年から1880年にパリの公式展示会に2回出展し、1883年から1895年までサロンに出展。 セーヌ川の岸沿いにあるこの夕景では、パリの第十八の地に、ノートルダムの塔は中央左の背景に見えます。
