Xu BeihongはYixing、江蘇省で生まれました。 1916年、彼はフランスの専攻で上海のオーロラ大学で高等教育を受け、その後、彼はヒンジ大学でアートディレクターを務めました。 1917年に日本に移住し、短時間で美術を学ぶ。 1919年、パリの国立美術学校に入学し、パリの国立美術学校に入学。 1927年(昭和27年)、南京江蘇大学芸術教育学部にて、南京市に帰国し、南京市に南京市に南京江蘇大学美術学部教授として勤務。 1928年、慶應義塾大学卒業後、国立中央大学で教鞭を始めた。 1943年、中国美術アカデミーを設立。1946年、国立新美術館に就任。 1949年、中国画家協会会長に就任し、1950年に中国中央芸術アカデミー長に就任。
