この華やかな屏風は、四季折々の花を鳳凰の表現に分散させたものです。 中国の起源のうち、神話のフェニックスは日本の絵画や装飾に共通神聖なモチーフとなっています。 オリエンタルフェニックスは、平和の時代に湧き上がる甘い水だけを飲むと考えられています。 120年ごとに1回しか現れない「竹果」を食べます。 中国のパラソルツリーの枝だけに、フェニックスツリーとも呼ばれることもあります。 画面上の絵画は、華やかにカラーセンスと確かなブラシワークで実行されます。 署名は、翌年9月1784日から翌年5月にかけて行われた作業を示しています。
