Derviş Ali Talibzade was a Sufi calligrapher from Baghdad. In this Dela’ilü’l-Hayrat that he copied, the three spreads on fols. 16v-19r are each decorated with bouquets of pink roses and buds with green leaves inside a gold and cherry coloured frame. In the centre of the large rose blossoms, the hilyes of Muhammad (fols. 16v-17r), Ebubekir (fol.17v), Ömer (fol. 18r), Osman (fol. 18v) and Ali (fol. 19r) are written in a naskh hand. The rose is the symbol of the Kadiri Sufi order.
