Design for the Palace of the People, envisaged by Owen Jones. His early designs, for what would become Alexandra Palace, were very similar to the Great Exhibition which had proven a popular and commercial success at Hyde Park, then after relocation to South London. The vision for the building was all glass, unlike the final structure which was constructed of steel and brick.
