From the Artist: My name is Mia Mendoza. I live in New Rochelle. When the pandemic started I was in the middle of 5th grade, me and my friends had a lot of fun planning because the last year in elementary school is the best! You got the chance to go to a Broadway show, have a picnic with all the classmates in the park, a graduation party, a yearbook, and suddenly school was close. I missed my friends so much in quarantine, later the school asked for art to fill the empty yearbook pages so I drew us coming together for a picture-something we were longing to do for a long time.
