Portrait of Casparus Commelin (1636-93). Bookseller, curator and city historian with his "Description of Amsterdam" of 1693. Kneepiece, sitting on his knee a part of his book, popped open on the page with a print from the old town hall. Behind the book is a statue of Mercury. Pendant of SK-C-518.
